int safe_pipe_write
(
int des,
const void *buff,
size_t num_bytes
);
PARAMETERS
-
int des
-
File descriptor
-
const void *buff
-
Location of bytes to write.
-
size_t num_bytes
-
Number of bytes to write.
DESCRIPTION
This routine writes to a pipe, trapping SIGPIPE so that if raised, error is
returned. Otherwise, this routine is the same as kjb_write. This routine can
be safely called with a descriptor for any type of file, but if the type of
file is known not to be a pipe, then there is nothing to be gained over
kjb_write.
RETURNS
On success safe_pipe_write returns the number of bytes written. On
failure ERROR is returned and an error message is set.
DISCLAIMER
This software is not adequatedly tested. It is recomended that
results are checked independantly where appropriate.
