int sample_from_discrete_distribution

DESCRIPTION

This funciton generates a sample from a 1D discrete distribution, given by the vector dist. The index of the sample is given by *idx. The elements of dist must sum to 1.

RETURNS

ERROR on failure, NO_ERROR on success.
