Structure with representation from image stacks

We are creating statistical models for biological structure which fit/explain stacks of images taken at various focal depths by either confocal or standard microscopes. Currently we are working with images from microscopic fungus from the genus Alternaria. Further information on our companion project to produce stochastic L-system models for Alternaria is available here.

A key idea that we are developing on the inference side is to jointly estimate the imaging system and the model. Further information on the inference process is available here.

This work in collaboration with Bary Pryor with the heavy lifting being preformed by Joseph Schlecht and Kate Spriggs.
